Hello friends,

best regards to all of you. Today I would like to explain one core topic, that has strong presense in German language, namely Nomen-Verb-Verbindungen (noun-verb combinations).

Under noun-verb combinations (connections) we understand combinations of a noun and a verb that together create a specific meaning. In these combinations, the noun plays the main role, while the verb often has a supporting function. If you separate verb from noun, the phrase gets senseless.

Interesting fact: starting from first steps in German language you will find those word combinations everywhere. Only with B1 level they are “officially” introduced. And that is one “inexplicable” peculiarity of German language.

So far we know the basic. Let me share the basic examples you learn from level A1 and upwards.

Alles zu seiner Zeit.

Have a great day.
